“I would probably wear red lipstick in the morning, but there’s something I find so unappealing about lipstick on coffee cups, Starbucks cups…Whenever I see that, I cringe…it just seems so vulgar.” Lauren Santo Domingo (1)
Today in 1976, New York socialite and style pioneer Lauren Santo Domingo (also known as LSD) was born. At just 37 years old, Lauren Santo Domingo has held many extraordinary titles including Contributing Editor for Vogue and Co-Founder and Creative Director for Moda Operandi.
After dabbling in modeling, Lauren began her illustrious career in 2000 when she began working as Vogue’s Fashion Assistant. Later, she moved up at Vogue by becoming the Associate Market Editor. In her post-Vogue years, LSD went on to work in Public Relations for J.Mendel and Carolina Herrera. As the PR Director for J.Mendel, she helped launch the brand’s first ready-to-wear collection.
In 2010, LSD worked to build Moda Operandi, an online fashion retailer that allows people to purchase runway looks before they are in stores. Collections on Moda Operandi include the latest from Opening Ceremony, Proenza Schouler, and Isabel Marant.
Currently a Contributing Editor for Vogue as well as the Creative Director at Moda Operandi, Lauren has demonstrated the results of working hard and paying your dues.
Happy Birthday, LSD!
